1912 His and Her Bathing Suits Toiles (B20701 104)

1 Copy the trimming pattern on to the bathing suit top (embroider, braid or cord)

2 Sew the wrong side of the front to right side of the inset trim, clip and turn to right side

3. Sew down inset onto front of bathing suit

4 Sew up side seams (matching stripes)

5 Make incision for legs, sew up leg seams 

6 Pin gusset to opposite sides of gusset opening 

7 Use a slightly curved seam allowance from corner to corner - gusset seam allowance stays straight

8 Now sew other two opposite sides of the gusset

9 Sew a reinforcing top stitch and trim seam allowance (shown from inside of garment)

10 Gusset top stitching shown from outside of garment (extended)

11 Gusset completed

12 Sew bias trim around neckline and armhole of Men's bathers 

13 Attach sleeves to Lady's bathers (matching stripes)

14 Bias around back neckline and sleeve edges of Lady's bathers

15 Make facings for both styles of bathers along shoulders, turn to inside, make buttons and buttonholes

Narrow hem for the bottom of Men's bathers 

Attach frill for the bottom of Ladies bathers 

Make tie belt for Ladies bathers
