This listing is for a PDF Sewing Pattern for a Mother's Apron, 2 Shirts for Infants, a Barrow-Coat, an Infant's Apron and a Flannel Slip, made from an original 1885 Harper's Bazar pattern.
As per Harper's Bazar, the Mother's Apron is described as "A large apron made of white India-rubber cloth is worn over the dress to protect it from moisture when giving the infant it’s bath, and over this is worn another of heavy Shaker flannel or Turkish towelling, which is really the bath blanket for the baby, but which for greater convenience is gathered to a band and tied on over the rubber apron."
The PDF Pattern (I50617 1), containing all of the garments, has been copied exactly as published in 1885 using a CAD program and will print out FULL SIZE pattern pieces as a PDF of 21 A4 or Letter pages using an ordinary printer or 2 AO pages
A separate file for the Pattern Instructions in ENGLISH as published in 1885 is also supplied.
Expert knowledge of sewing garments will be required, as the original pattern does not include seam allowances, and gives only basic instructions for the garment construction.
